MFA\'s Artful Adventures Home School program

Artful Adventures offers a specially designed home school program for children ages 3 and older.
Children are divided into 4 groups by age (3-5 years, 6-8 years, 9-11 years, and 12-15 years).
Visits are interconnected and grouped into thematic units. Each visit lasts an hour and a half and combines gallery exploration with an art-making activity.

The Artful Adventures Home School program meets on Friday afternoons (September through June) from 1:30-3:00 pm. Please see below for program dates and topics.
Animal Athletes, Architects, & Artists

Zoo New England offers a variety of age-appropriate educational programming for home schooled students ages 6-10. Classes are offered at both Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo.

Taught by Zoo educators, classes include hands-on activities, discussion, animal encounters and behind-the-scenes experiences. Each semester includes progressive program topics focused on teaching students about animals and their interactions within their ecosystems.

Theme: Animal Athletes, Architects, & Artists

Kangaroos in the Olympics? Honeybees building cities? Flamingoes applying make-up? Among the many talents of the animal kingdom are natureâs best athletes, architects and artists. This session we will discover animals with impressive physical capabilities, expert building skills, and an eye for the creative.

Thursdays, March 8, 15, 22 and 29;April 5, 12 and **26; and May 3
(**Skipping April 19th for Spring Vacation Week)

Classes run from 10:30 am â 12:30 pm

Tropical Forest Classroom at the Franklin Park Zoo
